Pristupačnost
The Faculty of Natural Sciences in Pula (FPZ) was established in November 2020 and represents the foundation for the development of natural sciences at the University. Although one of the youngest constituent units of the University, FPZ continues the activities of the former Department of Natural and Health Studies aimed at higher education and research in the field of natural and environmental sciences, particularly marine ecosystems.
The scientific work of our experts and associates includes research on biodiversity and processes in the Adriatic Sea, human impacts on marine ecosystems, and the development of new approaches to the conservation and management of marine biological resources. This work also forms the basis of the undergraduate university study program Marine Science, which has been conducted since 2008 in cooperation with the Center for Marine Research of the Ruđer Bošković Institute in Rovinj-Rovigno. Teaching activities at the Faculty are organized through two departments: The Department of Oceanography and the Department of Marine Biology.
