SusTrainable is an Erasmus + strategic partnership project which gathers ten European institutions from seven countries, including the Juraj Dobrila University in Pula, with the aim of promoting the principles of sustainability in the development of software products. The project started on the 1st September 2020 and lasts until 31st August 2023. The total project duration is 36 months.
Lead partner is the Portuguese University of Coimbra and the Juraj Dobrila University in Pula project team consists of prof. dr. sc. Tihana Galinac Grbac (leader), Associate Professor dr. sc. Valter Boljunčić and Associate Professor dr. sc. Neven Grbac. Full title of the project is „Promoting Sustainability as a Fundamental Driver in Software Development Training and Education“ (project reference 2020-1-PT01-KA203-078646). The project addresses global sustainability issues in terms of human environmental impact in the field of software engineering. More specifically, ways to manage software support that would reduce energy consumption in the ICT field, which is recording rapidly growing carbon footprint trends, are being explored. The acquired knowledge and technologies are planned to be shared through two teacher networking programs, dissemination of research results through two sessions attached to leading scientific conferences, while practical experiences will be brought closer to young computer engineers through two summer schools.
